2ND CITRUS WORKSHOP

Citrus industry was looked closer.

First Citrus workshop was held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Adana by Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association and the Turkishc Citrus Promotion Group’s Chairman Mr.Ali KAVAK's lead, with the hosting of AKIB and with the organization of the Turkish Citrus Promotion Group. With the participation of Ministry officials, Turkey Exporters Assembly, Manufacturers Associations, Farmers' Association, Chamber of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineers Chamber, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, commodity exchanges, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, exporting companies, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association board members, Shipping Associations, Faculty of University Research Institutes, Agricultural pharmaceutical companies, Customs Department, Provincial Control Department, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Development Agencies, Packing Company, National Citrus Council members, a delegation of about 150 attendee 1st Citrus Workshop was held on 22 February 2014 in Adana. 2nd Citrus Workshop was held on June 20,2014 to develop solutions to problems identified in the first workshop. 

The second workshop focused on the main problems identified in the first workshop held in February to work on a problem with each groups.Sharing all the solutions and reviews with all team was provided an interactive work environment by expert assessments.

8 main problems  was carried out by working group teams. After background studies about the causes and solutions of the problems each group made a presentation. The studies were  enriched by the comments and contributions of the other participants.

Further development of the citrus industry is possible by actualising the practical implications.At the same time both workshops are determined to put forward proposals brought to the identified problems should be considered.

The workshop, in terms of both producers exporters should open new horizons in the citrus industry. By public opinion and related Ministeries  the workshop will be held according to the principles of group brainstorming and idea exchange and sharing of the conclusions to the problems of the sector. In this way, lasting solutions to the industry's problems are expected to be found.
